Cristina Romo
Dance Instructor
Since she was a baby, dance has always been a part of Cristina’s life. Some of her first memories are watching her older sisters in dance class and at competitions. It was at the age of two that Cristina started her first dance class. At five years old, she was invited to be part of her studio's junior competitive group, and by the age of ten, Cristina was in her studio's Company/Competitive dance group.
She has trained extensively in a diverse range of dance genres including Ballet, Pointe, Jazz, Lyrical, Contemporary, Modern, Tap, Hip-Hop, Acro, Bolly-Jazz, Song & Dance, and Musical Theatre. Although Cristina loves all styles of dance, she achieved significant recognition in Musical Theatre dances, consistently receiving top scores and various awards at many dance competitions. Her accolades include highest scoring solo overall, first place medals/trophies, judges pick award, most promising award, most outstanding award, most entertaining awards, top-scoring solo & duo, cash prizes, and dance scholarships.
Through dance, Cristina had the opportunity to participate in shows and events across British Columbia such as Broadway’s Singing Christmas Tree, Christmas Extravaganza at Queen Elizabeth Theatre, Canada Day Celebration at the Pacific Colosseum, B.C. Movie Leo Awards, and the 2010 Paralympic Games. She was also a valued member of Ivivva and Lululemon’s Dance and Modeling team.

Cristina’s passion for the arts led her to take part in an Acting and Modeling convention in LA, where she competed in both dancing and acting and placed second overall. This experience further highlighted her versatility and talent beyond dance alone.
In addition to performing, Cristina has a deep commitment to teaching and mentoring young dancers. She started assisting in dance classes at the age of 14, initially helping with younger kids' ballet. By 16, she was teaching her own dance classes, including Wee ballet, beginner Jazz, and beginner Tap, while also assisting in Musical Theatre classes. Her love for children and teaching inspired her to pursue a career as a Paediatric/Neonatal Nurse, currently studying at Brock University.
Cristina is excited to be part of the Peak Dance Company team. She looks forward to sharing her love of dance with new young students, combining her passion for dance with her dedication to nurturing and supporting others. Her journey exemplifies a remarkable blend of artistic achievement, dedication to community involvement, and a deep-seated commitment to healthcare and education.
